About Snake River Hemophilia

The Snake River Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorders Association, Inc. was formed in Southeast Idaho in February 2005 by three Idaho families affected with a bleeding disorder. The Association was designed to serve other individuals and families affected by Hemophilia, Von Willebrand, and other bleeding disorders.

A huge thank you to Chad Stevens, Dayna Pope, and Kristen Ward for all their time and energy they put into creating this nonprofit organization. It has brought many families together to support each other through the bleeding disorders journey.

Kymm Shaw, Executive Director

As a parent I know we all want the best for our own children. Our family has been giving the opportunity to learn how precious good health is in our life. I have Hemophilia A, and I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 36 years old. My son Carter has Hemophilia A, and my daughter Whitney has a bleeding disorder which is still undiagnosed.

My family’s health is what has given me the drive to take on the role as Executive Director. By day I’m a preschool teacher of 15 years, and by night I’m advocating for my bleeding disorder families.

I’m passionate about creating a community that gives support to one another. My goal is to  create a positive family environment.

Favorites: My favorite beverage is Diet Coke! I can often be caught eating frozen Hostess cupcakes in middle of the night! I also love my farm animals!

About me: My husband Milo and I have been blessed to have three wonderful kids, Whitney, Ashley, and Carter. Our family motto is, “Work hard, Play hard, Sleep hard”! We are always on the lookout for adventure. We spend our spare time outside playing in the water, working on the farm, and spending time with our family at the cabin.
